Laney LeBlanc earns female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 351 past athlete of the week winners.

This week we had two Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Laney LeBlanc helped Skowhegan field hockey roll to a playoff win. LeBlanc joins Adam Dusty (10-20-11), Marcus Christopher (10-8-17), Ashley Alward (4-23-18), Alexis Michonsk (9-16-18), Adelle Foss (10-7-18), Annie Cook (12-23-18), Sydney Ames (4-22-19), Emily Reichenbach (11-4-19), and Jaycee Christopher (12-23-19) as student/athletes from Skowhegan high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

 

October 25th-October 30th

  • Laney LeBlanc- Skowhegan- field hockey- had two goals and two assists in 5-0 class A quarterfinal win over Camden Hills.

Runner up

  • Chelsey Cote- Old Town- Field hockey- High School. The keeper helped her  #2 Coyotes to a 5-0 victory over #7 John Bapst in a Class B quarterfinal game.
