Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 227 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 13 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Hayley Rossman and the Dexter Tigers field hockey team have outscored opponents 30-0 in starting the season with three wins. Rossman scored 10 goals this week, including seven in a win over PCHS. Kaitlyn Webber,Cheyanne Beem, Becca Batron, and Aubrey Godin also received nominations from the Dexter field hockey team. Erin Speed recorded five goals and one assist in leading the PCHS girls soccer team to their first win of the season. Rossman joins Jordyn Bell (9-22-11), David McKusick (2-11-12), Peyton Watson (3) (9-21-14), Trevor Fogarty (2) (10-20-13), Libby Kain (2) (4-21-13), Katie Batron (10-5-14), Brayden Miller (2) (6-11-17), Megan Peach (3) (2-27-17), Hannah Dorman (9-3-16), Zachary White (10-15-16), Tyler Beem (11-6-16), and Nathan Richards (6-4-17) as student/athletes from Dexter high school that have been named athlete of the week.

- Hayley Rossman- Dexter – field hockey- the senior had a hat trick in 10-0 win over Central. Scored seven goals in 11-0 win over PCHS.

- Camryn Rolfe- Penquis- soccer- scored four goals in 6-1 win over Mattanawcook.
- Isabella Baker- Orono- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 5-1 win over Lee.
- Hannah Dorman- Dexter- soccer- scored three goals in 4-2 win over PCHS.
- Becca Batron- Dexter- field hockey-scored one goal and had five assists in 11-0 win over PCHS.
