Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 176 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 13 Rowell’s Garage athlete of the week nominations. Nia Irving had a 27 point/27 rebound performance in leading Lawrence to a 45-47-45 win over Edward Little. Irving also earned athlete of the week honors two weeks ago when she scored 35 points and pulled down 25 rebounds in a game.
Kassidy Harriman from Old Town edged out Tate Dolley from Machias for runner up. Other nominations this week include Megan Peach from Dexter, Jody Bickford from MCI, Heather Kervin from Winslow, Kayla Falone from Schenck, Jess Girsa from Stearns, Linda Riley and Caitlin Logston from Forest Hills, Cassie Combs from Bucksport, Sydney Allen and Emma Campbell from Central.
Roadrunner Taxi athlete of the week
Nia Irving- Lawrence- basketball- recorded 27 points and 27 rebounds in 47-45 win over Edward Little. Irving also earned athlete of the week honors on January 16th.

Kassidy Harriman – Old Town – swimming- Harriman is a junior and in her second year of diving for the coyotes. At a meet against Brewer High School Kassidy set a new school record for a 6 dive meet. The old record was 200.25 set by Missy Ouellette in 1998. Kassidy’s score was 201.50.

Tate Dolley-Machias- basketball- scored 27 points to break the Machias scoring record in a win over Jonesport-Beals. The record was previously held by Michael Little at 1269 points. Recorded 14 points and 13 rebounds in 35-33 win over Shead.
Megan Peach- Dexter- basketball- scored 18 points in 41-27 win over Schenck. Scored 20 points in 47-40 win over Foxcroft.
Jody Bickford- MCI- basketball- scored 20 points in 52-36 win over Belfast, recorded 10 points and nine rebounds in 49-42 loss to Winslow.
Heather Kervin- Winslow- basketball- scored 25 points in 49-42 win over MCI.
Kayla Falone- Schenck- basketball- scored 20 points in 55-47 win over Stearns. Scored 13 points in 46-41 win over Fort Kent.
Jessicca Girsa- Stearns – basketball- scored 22 points in 55-47 loss to Schenck.
Linda Riley- Forest Hills- basketball- recorded 26 points (19 in the second half) and 14 rebounds in 68-31 win over Highview Christian.
Caitlin Logston- Forest Hills- basketball- recorded 24 points (22 in the second half) and 11 rebounds in 68-31 win over Highview Christian.
Cassie Combs- Bucksport- basketball- scored 31 points in 74-66 double overtime win over Calais.
Sydney Allen- Central- basketball- recorded 18 points, seven steals, and four assists in 54-29 win over Caribou.
Emma Campbell- Central- basketball- recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals in 54-29 win over Caribou.
