The Boston Bruins outshot the New Jersey Devils 40-15 on Tuesday night but still came up short as New Jersey got a pair of powerplay goals for a 2-1 win at the Prudential Center in Newark.

Keith Kincaid made 39 stops in net for New Jersey in his first appearance since March 19th. Kincaid had allowed 13 goals on 75 shots in his last three appearances. Tuuka Rask was the tough luck loser making 13 saves behind a struggling Bruins offense.

The Bruins have only 10 goals in their past seven games on 238 shots. Six of them games have ended in a loss. Bruins are also 2 for 19 on the powerplay in those seven games.

Travis Zajac and Reid Boucher scored the goals for the Devils. Boucher had the game winner just six seconds into a powerplay in the third period. Those goals were sandwiched around Brad Marchands 35th of the year in the second period.

Boston (40-29-8) still sits in third place in the Atlantic Division as they got some help when Montreal defeated Detroit 4-3 Tuesday. The Wings sit just one point behind the Bruins. New Jersey (37-32-8) has a slim chance to make the playoffs as they are five points behind the second wild card leader Philadelphia with just five games remaining.

Boston now travels to St Louis to battle the Blues on Friday night at 8 p.m. St Louis is currently riding a five game winning steak and have only allowed one goal during that stretch. They are also tied for most points in the Western Conference with 101.
