The Husson University Eagles softball team fell 2-1 to top seed and the host team Castleton in the first game of the 2016 North Atlantic Conference tournament.
Korrie Laren had three hits and five RBI, including a home run to lead Thomas College to a 16-2 win over New England College in the second game of the day.
Lyndsay Merrill had three hits and Alannah Healy pitched s four hitter to help Husson University defeat New England College 3-0 and avoid elimination.
Castleton advanced to the championship game when they defeated Thomas 6-1 in the final game of the day.
Thomas and Husson will meet at 2 PM on Saturday. The loser will be eliminated. The winner will advance to face Castleton for the championship at 4 PM. If Castleton loses, it will force one final game on Sunday at 1 PM.
