Temple softball slips past Highview

BANGOR- The Temple Academy softball team took advantage of six walks in a seven run third inning and knocked off Highview Christian Academy 8-5 in Class D action at the Union St Complex Friday afternoon.

Jamie Feugil had three runs knocked in while Shyla Richards had a pair of hits and two runs batted in as well as Temple (2-1) had an 8-1 lead after four innings then withstood a rally by the Knights to pick up the win.

HCA (1-3) was led by Megan McDonald who had three hits and an RBI while Cassidy Burns and Kelsea McDonald also had a pair of hits and each had an RBI as well.

Delaney Carr earned the complete game win in the circle allowing five runs, three earned, 11 hits, one walk, and five strikeouts in her seven innings of work.

Megan McDonald took the loss as she pitched the third inning for HCA allowing seven runs, six earned, three hits, six walks, and two strikeouts. Her sister Kelsea did pitch the other six innings of the game and she allowed just one unearned run, one hit, two walks, and had nine strikeouts.

Temple will return to action Monday at 11 a.m. when they host Forest Hills for a doubleheader while Highview travels to Waterville for a rematch with Temple Tuesday at 4 p.m.
