Piscataquis community high school 2016 boys soccer preview

Info from  coach Trey Gilbert

School, sport, record from last year.

P.C.H.S boys soccer, previous year record 6-8

Expectations: With eight returning starters and getting to the quarter finals last year we are looking to make a playoff push.

Strengths: We have a lot of returning players that have varsity experience. These boys have all played together since
Middle school and even before. They know there roles and each others playing styles. They are able to push each other in practices and encourage each other as well. We will have a strong starting group from offense to defense.

Challenges: Being a first year coach the players need to get used to my style of play and what I expect from them during practices. We don’t have huge numbers and will have a young bench. Injuries could be a problem if they happen.

Key Players/Position: Having eight returning starters will be huge for us with Junior Bryce Gilbert leading the offense upfront who was a PVC first team selection and who was on the All Northern Maine All Star team last year as a sophomore. Two other very talented Juniors returning up front will be Dillon Drew and Cameron Kane. Returning Seniors Brian Moulton and Nick Easler who are both very fast and strong will be controlling the middle for us. Holding down the back line are two returning Seniors Kyle Kain and Jarrod White who both have good experience on defense also a returning starter is Junior Damyan True again with good experience on the back line.
