Patriots going to record breaking ninth Super Bowl

The New England Patriots will be going to a record ninth Super Bowl after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-17 in the AFC championship game on Sunday night. 

It is the seventh trip to the Super Bowl in the last 15 years for the Patriots.

Tom Brady threw for 384 yards on 32-42 passing. He also threw three touchdowns Chris Hogan was the main weapon for Brady. Hogan had 180 yards receiving and two touchdown on nine receptions. Julian Edelman had 118 yards and one touchdown on eight catches. 

The Patriots went up 10-0 in the first quarter. They were up 17-6 when it appeared the Steelers cut the deficit to 17-12. The touchdown call was reversed and the Patriots defense took care of the rest.  They made three stops, holding the Steelers to a field goal, making the score 17-0 at the half.

The Patriots dominated the second half, scoring 19 consecutive points to start the half. 

The Patriots will play the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 in Houston on February 5th.
