Bruins blanked at home in Monday matinee

Sven Andrighetto and J.T. Compher both had first period goals, and Nail Yakupov netted two in the third period including an empty netter to lead the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-0 win Monday afternoon at TD Garden in Boston.

Semyon Varlamov stopped all 29 shots as the Avalanche are now unbeaten in their last 10 trips to Boston (9-0-1). Colorado goes to 2-1-0 in the early season.

Boston (1-1) was 0-4 on the powerplay and did get 18 saves from Tuuka Rask.

The rematch between the two teams will be played Wednesday night at 9:30 pm in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
