Courtney to miss rest of season

April 4, 2018

As first reported Tuesday by Larry Mahoney from the Bangor Daily News, the Maine baseball team is going to be without the services of former Bangor High School standout pitcher Justin Courtney for the rest of the season.

The right hander hasn’t pitched since March 9th, and now has found out he needs Tommy John surgery in the next two weeks and won’t return for 10-12 months.

Courtney, who is a senior, will be medically redshirted and will be able to pitch again next season. Courtney in four starts this season was 1-1, and opponents were only hitting .179 off the 6-5 225 pounder.
