Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 292 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Alex Tash allowed one hit and had a good day with the bat to help the Penobscot Valley High School (PVHS) Howlers to a win. Tash joins Kayla Dube (4)- (5-12-13), Arianna McKinnon (2) (5-31-14), Amy Hallett (2) (10-3-15), Ryley Buck (9-13-15), Jarrett Priest (4-30-16), Thomas Spencer (5-29-16), Leine McKechnie (10) (4-30-19), Jaeden Folster (5-28-17), Lexi Ireland (7) (2-27-19), Grant Kidon (1-28-18), Jonny Littlefield (6-3-18), and Elijah Wood (1-27-19) as student/athletes from PVHS that have earned athlete of the week honors.
Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week
- Alex Tash- PVHS- baseball- allowed only one bit with 10 strikeouts in five innings plus had two hits and two RBI in 7-1 win over Schenck.
Runner up
- Levi Williamson- Brewer – baseball- pitched a four hitter with five strikeouts in 12-2 win over Belfast.
