October 26, 2019

DEXTER– It took 58 minutes and 9 seconds but it was worth the wait for the Dexter Tigers field hockey. The Tigers got a goal from Avery Herrick with 1:51 remaining that gave them a 1-0 victory over Mountain Valley in a Maine Principals’ Association class C semifinal contest.

The teams battled to a scoreless first half with both sides getting four shots off in the first 30 minutes. Strong defense and solid goalie work from Shawnee McNally of the Tigers and Bella Simmons of the Falcons kept the score 0-0. That was until Kiana Bennett passed it to Cheyenne Beem who assisted Herrick’s goal.
