The first Thursday of the high school basketball season will be highlighted by two boys basketball games.
Schenck will play host to the Tigers tonight at 7 PM. The Wolverines are led by Tyrone Davis, and Kaden Hannan. Davis and Hannan combined to record 30 points and 15 rebounds in a season opening win over PCHS. Dexter is led by one of the best point guards in the state Nate Richards. The Tigers are deep, coach Peter Murray can go 10 deep without losing anything.
Another key game will be a class C clash as Central will travel to George Stevens. The Maine Basketball index has this as the game of the day. Central (2-0) is led by a strong core of Simon Allen, Alex Hewitt, Bryce Burns, and Scotty Ferrie. Allen scored 27 points in a Red Devils win over Mattanawcook on Monday night. George Stevens (2-0) is led by Caden Mattson and exchange student Miloš Šujica.
A player to watch this year: GSA’s, an exchange student from Serbia. Athletic player with terrific floor vision and a consistent 3-point shot. Looked like a QB with some of the full-court passes he made last night. #MESports

It is a slow night on the girls basketball schedule after a busy night on Wednesday. Stearns cruising to a win over Central highlighted the action last night. For the full girls basketball scoreboard go here.
