Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. This week we had four Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Peyton Grant averaged 26 points in leading Dexter to a pair of wins. Grant scored 42 in a win over Bucksport. The Tigers ended the regular season on a 10 game winning streak and the number two seed in the upcoming class C tournament. This is the sixth athlete of the week honor for Grant. She joins Kolleen Bouchard (19), Leine McKechnie (13) from PVHS, Lexi Ireland (9) from PVHS, Bryce Gilbert (9) from PCHS, Justin Thompson (9) from Schenck, Taylor Schildroth (9) from George Stevens, Karli Theberge-(7) from Hermon, Gage Feeney (7) from Washington Academy, and Parise Rossignol (6) from Van Buren as student/athletes with at least six athlete of the week honors.
