Colby Pomeroy earns second Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 321 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had eight Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Colby Pomeroy from Winslow and Bryce Lausier from Hampden had memorable senior games. Pomeroy put in 44 in leading the Black Raiders to a win over Waterville. Pomeroy edged out Lausier who put in 43 in a Broncos win over Nokomis. It is the second athlete of the week honor for Pomeroy. He also was named AOW on December 19th, 2019.

  • Colby Pomeroy- WInslow- basketball- scored 44 points in his senior game in 84-42 win over Waterville.

Runner up

  • Bryce Lausier- Hampden- basketball- scored 43 points in 79-42 win over Nokomis.

Other nominations

  • Josh Foster- Hodgdon- basketball- scored 23 points in 63-59 win over Ashland.
  • Nate Richards- Dexter- basketball- scored 18 points, including going 6-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter in 63-46 win over Central.
  • Zach Dill- Orono- basketball- scored 20 points in 75-49 win over Foxcroft.
  • Myles Brown- Deer Isle-Stonington- basketball- recorded 25 points, three steals, two rebounds, and  two assists in 63-55 loss to Greenville. Recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and four assists in 63-42 win over Searsport.
  • Coleman Brown- Deer Isle-Stonington- basketball- recorded 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in 63-42 win over Searsport.
  • Keegan Gentle- Houlton- basketball- recorded 25 points, nine rebounds, three steals, three assists, and game winning basket in 55-54 win over Presque Isle.
