Husson Women’s Basketball Uses Balanced Attack To Get By Thomas 90-53

Bangor,ME- The Husson University women’s basketball team defeated the Thomas College Terriers 90-53 Saturday evening at the Newman Gymnasium. The Eagles put five players in double digit scoring in the win.

Each team swapped baskets in the early stages of the contest. The Eagles went on a run with 3:48 to go in the opening quarter which extended their lead to 24-10 with 1:48 remaining. Husson had a 28-10 advantage at the end of the first 10 minutes.

The Terriers closed within ten points early in the second quarter, but another Eagles run would extend the lead to over twenty points and would be in full control at the break up 48-25.

Husson kept the offense rolling in the second half along with strong defense to extend their halftime lead and pick up their second win in as many days.

Sydney Allen led the Eagles with 17 points and four steals in the win. Joan Overman and Vanessa Duarte each added 13 points. Bailey Donovan contributed 12 points and nine rebounds. Sami Ireland also got into double figures with 11 points.

Kaylee Ravagli led the Terriers with 16 points. Karli Stubbs had 13 points, while Malorie Weaver contributed 11 points in the loss.

Husson improves to 16-8 overall and 13-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. They will play host to Maine Maritime in the final regular season game Tuesday night at 5:30.

Thomas moves to 10-14 overall and 8-5 in the North Atlantic Conference. The Terriers travel to UMF Tuesday night in the regular season finale.
