September 1, 2021

PCHS Field Hockey

Coach:  Emily Wilson

2020 Record:  4-4-1

Expectations:  “Our expectations are very high this year,” Wilson said. We have a large group of talented seniors who are very motivated and they are supported by a group of very skilled teammates.”

Strengths:  “Team chemistry is one of our biggest strengths because most of these kids have been playing together since grade school and they have had great consistency among the coaches at various levels in philosophy and methods,”Wilson said.  “We also have a very quick team this year.”

Weaknesses:  “Our biggest weakness is low numbers as some players from last year have moved or are not playing at this point.” Wilson said

Coaches comment – “The 2020 season definitely impacted us.  Our off season training was completely different, and very delayed which set us behind where we usually are and we did not have the results we expected.  We had some terrific individual games and results but overall the season was disappointing and COVID protocols and quarantines did play a role as I am sure they did for many teams.”

Schedule: The Pirates open the season at Central before playing their home opener against Foxcroft on September 3rd.
