BANGOR- Southern Aroostook scored the first 22 points and never looked back in a 71-42 win over Schenck in a Class D boys basketball semifinal game played on Thursday night at the Cross Insurance Center.
The Warriors had a 25-2 lead after the first quarter behind 10 points from Hunter Burpee. The lead was 44-7 at the half as Hunter Burpee and Dylan Burpee each had 12 points.
Hunter Burpee added eight points in the third quarter as the Warriors built the lead to 60-27 heading into the final quarter.
Kaden Hannan had 19 points to lead the Wolverines. Mason McDunnah added nine points. Schenck finishes the season with a record of 10-11.
Hunter Burpee scored a game high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Warriors. Dylan Burpee had 18 points, four steals, and two blocks. Southern Aroostook (18-1) will play in the regional championship game on Saturday morning at 10:45 AM.
