Bruins win opener of three game trip, Celtics bounce back led by Tatum

At Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Thursday night, Trent Frederic continued his stellar season with two goals including the game winner as the Boston Bruins won an opener of a three game road trip by taking down the Los Angeles Kings 5-2.

David Pastrnak also had two goals in the win for Boston (30-4-4). With the game tied at 2-2 after two periods, the Bruins scored three in the third led by Frederic who scored the deciding goal at 10:36 and another just 34 seconds later. Frederic now has nine goals on the season. Pastrnak is up to 27. Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves. Boston is in San Jose Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. to face the Sharks.

 

At American Airlines Center in Dallas on Thursday, the Boston Celtics bounced back from a two game losing streak to take down the Dallas Mavericks 124-95.

Jayson Tatum led all scorers and had a triple double with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. Six Boston players scored in double figures as Jaylen Brown also put in 19, Malcolm Brogdon and Marcus Smart 15, Grant Williams 12, and Derrick White had 10 points. The Celtics (27-12) go to 1-2 on the road trip after a loss to Denver and a crushing defeat at the hands of Oklahoma City 150-117 on Tuesday. They have one game left on the four game road swing when they face San Antonio on Saturday at 6 p.m.
