John Bapst 2023 baseball preview

April 7, 2023
John Bapst – Baseball
Head Coach – Jason O’Reilly
Assistant Coaches – Jordan Charpentier, Nate Smith, and Alec Gagnon
2022 Record – 11-6
Expectations – “With nine returning varsity players and a roster of almost all juniors and seniors,”O’Reilly said.” We expect to be competitive again this year. We lost a top pitcher in Allen Wheaton, who is pitching at Husson this year, but we have more depth on the mound than we’ve had in recent years. Caleb Robbins, Jack Mason, and Sam Bay will anchor the pitching staff. A roster full of seniors with varsity experience will be an asset, as will several players who are versatile and can move between positions easily.”
Strengths – roster of mostly seniors, strong pitching depth, athletic and versatile players
Weaknesses – “Two areas of focus will be on limiting mistakes and putting pressure on opposing teams with offensive production, aspects of the game where we need to improve.” O’Reilly said.
