Eastern Maine Sports enters our 15th season of picking weekly high school football games. Out of the completed 15 years, Bob Beatham has been the expert champion in 7 of those with his last coming in 2024. Chris Lessner is second winning three times (last in 2023). Sean Stackhouse won last fall for the first time and is the defending champion. We’ve had six different people win expert titles with Beatham and Lessner leading the way, while Stackhouse, Frank Johnson, Nick Coit, and Marc Calnan have all won once (no season in 2020). We also have several new contestants this year. Ginny Calnan is replacing Traci Calnan, and Brian Salsbury is taking the spot of Tyler Krusz. Also welcome Logan Martin and returning picker Ethan Snow.
The group believes the opening week Thursday night clash between Cheverus and Westbrook will be the most competitive, while Wells, Stearns, Bangor, and Skowhegan will roll to victory. Below are the games were are picking, the consensus, and the weekly projections-
