Husson men’s and women’s soccer split NAC openers at Lesley University

The Husson men’s and women’s soccer teams played their North Atlantic Conference openers against Lesley University at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, Massachusetts on Saturday night.

In the men’s game- The Eagles held the Lynx to just one shot on net, and got two goals from Miguel Diaz Alvarez to win their first game of the season 5-0. Alvarez also had an assist. Cesar Soucre and Santiago Jimenez added goals for Husson. Carlos Davila contributed one assist. They outshot Lesley University 20-3 in attempts (16-1 on goal), and also had a 5-1 advantage on corner kick opportunities. Liam Mason (Greenville) stopped the one shot he faced for the shutout. The Eagles (1-3-1 overall) will host UNE on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in a non-conference match.

In the women’s game- Cameron Wedding and Elsie Koehler each scored a goal as Lesley University took the league opener 2-0. Olivia Charles had two of the three shots on goal for Husson, and Gabriella Smith (Biddeford) made two saves in net. The Eagles (2-3-1) will head to Lewiston on Tuesday night for a non-conference match against Bates College at 7 p.m.
