Jonny Littlefield earns Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 257 past athlete of the week winners. 

This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Jonny Littlefield helped the Penobscot Valley High School (PVHS) Howlers finish the season strong. Littlefield joins Kayla Dube  (4)- (5-12-13), Arianna McKinnon (2) (5-31-14), Amy Hallett (2) (10-3-15), Ryley Buck (9-13-15), Jarrett Priest (4-30-16), Thomas Spencer (5-29-16), Leine McKechnie (9) (5-20-18), Jaeden Folster (5-28-17), Lexi Ireland (1-13-18), and Grant Kidon (1-28-18) as student/athletes from PVHS to earn athlete of the week honors.

Jonny Littlefield- PVHS – baseball- Fired 3 innings of no hit ball, while adding two hits and three RBI, including the game winning hit in 3-2 win over class D South #1 seed Searsport.

Runner up

R.J. Gross- Presque Isle- baseball- pitched a four hitter with nine strikeouts in complete game shutout in 7-0 win over Caribou.

Other nominations

Evan Andrews- Brewer- baseball- pitched a three hitter with eight strikeouts in 7-3 win over Nokomis.

Isaac Moore- Bucksport- baseball- pitched a four hitter with nine strikeouts in 6-1 win over Sumner.
