Kobe Gilbert earns Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week honors

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 303 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had five Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Kobe Gilbert scored four goals and had two assists in leading the PCHS Pirates to a pair of victories. Gilbert is the 10th student athlete from Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) to earn athlete of the week honors. He joins Alex Speed (4) (10-25-14), Lindsey Morrill (10-20-11), Abby Burdin (4-29-12), Delani Bennett (2) (1-5-15), Erin Speed (3) (10-15-16), Jordynne LIttlefield (6-13-16), Dillion Drew (10-23-17)
Cameron Kane (5-6-18), and his brother Bryce Gilbert (9) (2-11-18).

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

  • Kobe Gilbert- PCHS – soccer – had three goals and one assist in 9-2 win over Dexter. Had one goal and one assist in 3-0 win over Penquis.

  • Logan Martin- Foxcroft- football- scored three touchdowns in 32-21 win over Houlton.
