BANGOR- Husson baseball would begin a four game weekend series with a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader sweep over Thomas College at the Winkin Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Game 1 (9 innings)- The Eagles scored six times in their last three at bats and outlasted the Terriers 11-9. Husson had built a 4-0 lead after one inning, before Thomas battled back to grab the lead (6-5) with five runs in the fourth. The hosts knotted it back up in the bottom half of the fourth, and then jumped back in front to stay at 7-6 on a Yates Emerson (Bangor) RBI single in the seventh. Matt Holmes (Bangor) would provide the difference in the end with a two-run homerun to left centerfield in the eighth inning. Holmes led the offense with two hits and three RBI, while Cam Rendell, Liam Kelley, and Emerson had two hits and one RBI each. Noah Hurd (Mt. View) got the win to improve to 2-1 on the mound in relief providing 4.1 scoreless innings allowing two hits, walking two, and striking out three. Husson began their comeback in the last of the sixth on a sacrifice RBI flyout by Trevor Poisson and a RBI single from Preston Libby to cut it to 4-3. In their last at bat, Colin Marshall started the rally with a walk and Rendell had an infield hit.
