All three state of Maine teams eliminated in USCAA Small College World Series in Pennsylvania

All three of the state of Maine teams in the USCAA Small College World Series were eliminated from competition this week in Pennsylvania.

Southern Maine Community College softball, coming off their first ever national championship last season, fell to the same team they had beaten in the title game last spring when they lost 5-2 to Florida National on Wednesday. The Seawolves had lost to Bay Path on Monday 5-4, before staying alive by beating rival the University of Maine-Augusta 7-4 on Tuesday. SMCC ends up with a final record of 27-11. Here are the results for the other Maine teams in the World Series:

CMCC baseball- Monday beat #10 Central Penn 11-3 and lost to #2 Apprentice 5-1. Tuesday eliminated by #6 Miami Hamilton 6-4. Final record- 27-10.

UMA softball- Monday lost to Penn State Kensington 8-6. Tuesday eliminated by SMCC 7-4. Final record- 28-11.
