Haley Hamlin helped to lead #3 Lake Region softball over #2 York 5-1 in a Class B South semifinal played at York High School on Saturday afternoon.
Hamlin earned the pitching victory for the Lakers, as she fired a complete game allowing no earned runs on four hits with one walk and 11 strikeouts. She also added two hits at the plate. The 5-8 hitters Everly Robbins, Vylet Robbins, Adelynn Wilson, and Ashlynn Stevens each had one hit and one RBI. Piper Catanese had two hits, and Emily Blake had one hit and one RBI for the York Wildcats who end their season with a record of 16-2. Lake Region (14-4) will meet top seed Medomak Valley for the regional championship on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.
