Caden Crocker earns male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 340 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations.  Caden Crocker helped the Foxcroft Academy football team start the season with a bang in a win over Lisbon. Crocker finished with 238 yards and was named Bangor Savings Bank player of the game. Crocker joins Ryan Rebar  (3) (2-17-13), Donnie Boyer (3) (6-2-13), Peter Boyer (3) (10-19-14), Brianna Skolfield (2) (12-15-13), Mackenzie Coiley (2) (1-26-14), Julia Annis (2) (2-17-14)Tino Ayala (2) (12-28-14), Cameron Fadley (2-25-13); Jesse Provost (4-28-13), Kaleb Smith (4-21-13), Hunter Smith (4) (2-6-16),Ali Bourget (9-25-16), Evan Chadbourne (10-23-16), Nick Clawson (2) (11-12-17), Michaleb Niles (11-5-18), Jeremy Richard (1-7-19), and Lucas Ames 2-10-19) as student/athletes from Foxcroft Academy to earn athlete of the week honors.


Male athlete of the week August 30th-September 4th

  • Caden Crocker- Foxcroft- football-rushed for 70 yards on six carries, and had 84 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions and had an 81 yard kickoff return for a touchdown in 33-16 win over Lisbon. Crocker finished with 238 all purpose yards.

Runner up

  • Ashton Dennett- Cony- football – had 166 yards and three touchdowns on nine receptions and caught the game winning two point conversion in 36-35 win over Skowhegan.

Other nominations

  • Austin Seavey- Foxcroft- football- threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 10-14 passing and also had 108 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries in 33-16 win over Lisbon.
  • Joey Morrison- Bangor- football- had 217 yards and two touchdown on 15 carries in 54-13 win over Brewer.
  • Chris Caswell- Houlton – football – rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns on three carries. Also had a 10 yard reception. Also on defense had seven tackles and a 99 interception return for a touchdown in 74-6 win over Ellsworth.
  • Troy Hipsley- Houlton- football- had 3 punt returns for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Had one catch for a six yard touchdown and one rush for 14 yards. On defense had eight tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble in 74-6 win over Ellsworth.
