Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 346 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had seven Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Avery Gagnon did it on both sides of the ball to help the Dexter football team to a win over Orono. Gagnon joins Jordyn Bell (9-22-11), David McKusick (2-11-12), Peyton Watson (3) (9-21-14), Trevor Fogarty (2) (10-20-13), Libby Kain (2) (4-21-13), Katie Batron (10-5-14), Brayden Miller (2) (6-11-17), Megan Peach (3) (2-27-17), Hannah Dorman (9-3-16), Zachary White (10-15-16), Tyler Beem (11-6-16), Nathan Richards (6-4-17), Hayley Rossman (2) (10-1-17), Matt Richards (9-10-17), Peyton Grant (10)(2-16-21), Jacob Bickford (5-20-18), and Avery Herrick (5) (6-10-21)as student/athletes from Dexter high school that have been named athlete of the week.
