Austin Seavey earns male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 34 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations.  Austin Seaver accounted for 309 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to a win over Oak Hill. Seavey is the 19th overall and second straight Foxcroft Academy student/athlete to earn athlete of the week. Seavey  joins Ryan Rebar  (3) (2-17-13), Donnie Boyer (3) (6-2-13), Peter Boyer (3) (10-19-14), Brianna Skolfield (2) (12-15-13), Mackenzie Coiley (2) (1-26-14), Julia Annis (2) (2-17-14)Tino Ayala (2) (12-28-14), Cameron Fadley (2-25-13); Jesse Provost (4-28-13), Kaleb Smith (4-21-13), Hunter Smith (4) (2-6-16),Ali Bourget (9-25-16), Evan Chadbourne (10-23-16), Nick Clawson (2) (11-12-17), Michaleb Niles (11-5-18), Jeremy Richard (1-7-19), Lucas Ames 2-10-19), and Caden Crocker (9-18-21).


Male athlete of the week September 6th-11th

  • Austin Seavey- Foxcroft- football- threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns on 18-23 passing and added 32 yards rushing and one touchdown on eight carries in 41-20 win over Oak Hill.

Runner up

  • Joey Morrison- Bangor – football- rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries in 42-6 win over Lewiston.

Other nominations

  • Simon Allen- Central- soccer – recorded a hat trick in 4-4 tie against Bangor Christian.
  • Gage Beaudry – Foxcroft – football – Lead the team with nine tackles, had two catches for 35 yards and a TD, and also had 19 rushing yards on six attempts and a TD in 41-20 win over Oak Hill.
